Detox Bath - hello lover!

Relaxing BathLately, I have been obsessed with essential oils.  Soon, you will get a post about this new obsession, but for now, I'm going to focus on one aspect:  the detox bath.  With new year resolutions in the air, everyone is trying to get healthier, me included.  I'm planning on getting back on the pregnancy wagon (if all goes well) in the - relatively -  near future.  So, just like last time, I'm working on my body prep.  Pregnancy is like training for a marathon, after all (see that post here)!

In my quest for health, I have started taking detox baths to get toxins out of my skin and pH balance my body.  I also give my baby detox baths.

A few elements of a detox bath:

Essential Oils

The essential oils I use for detox baths are

Lavender:  Helps relieve anxiety, anti-bacterial, soothes sore muscles and many more benefits.

Lemon:  Detoxifies the body, natural immune booster, and clears bacteria.

Peppermint:  Helps with skin ailments

Epsom Salts

Epsom salts flush toxins from the body, regulates muscle functions, relieves stress, and relieves inflammation.

Baking Soda

Neutralizes chemicals in tap water and helps your body absorb minerals better.

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite clay is made from volcanic ash with a negative molecule charge.  Most toxins have a positive molecule charge, so the clay actually pulls the toxins from your body.

Baby J and I take detox baths a few times a week and I have to say, we have been sick less, sleep better, and are better energized during the day.
